The Grasshoppers of Government

When they are there,
Which isn’t too often,
The talking shop
In Leinster House
Goes on
And on
And on.

They change their minds
As often as a grasshopper
That hops from one blade of grass
To another.

So at the next General Election,
When one of the grasshoppers
Comes to your door
To tell you of
the many things he has done for you,
Before they even start,
Summarise your response
In two words;
‘Hop off.’
Stare them in the eye,
Without using any foul language;
‘Hop off.’
