Three Candles

In the ancient village church,
A holy place,
Three candles are alight
On the bronzed sculpted sanctuary shrine,
Expressing man’s
Faith, Hope and Love.
The gentle flickering flame
Exudes a warm comforting glow.
Bathes man’s soul.
Lifts man’s spirit.
Gives man Hope.

In that ancient village church,
These three candles are alight
For you Stephen.
That warm comforting glow
Exuding from their gentle flickering light,
Embraces you lovingly
Now in this, the present,
And always.
